Virginia Hodgkins Somers had a lifelong affection for the people of Maine. She summered at Kennebunk Beach, and lived in the area year-round after marrying her childhood sweetheart, Warren Somers.
“Ginny” was generous to those less fortunate than she. During her lifetime she made gifts to organizations benefitting children and promoting all types of education. In her typically unassuming way, she made many of these gifts anonymously. A graduate of the Walnut Hill School in Natick, Massachusetts, and Skidmore College, Ginny chose to live a quiet life; reading was her passion. She and Warren enjoyed coastal cruising from Maine to Florida.
